Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Atif Khan has revealed that he was approached with a significant government offer ahead of constitutional amendments, which he categorically declined. In an interview, Atif Khan shared that the stakes were incredibly high during this period, with discussions revolving around open treasuries and multi-billion-dollar deals. The former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) minister also disclosed that he had been offered the position of KP Chief Minister before the elections, with a proposal to form a separate faction within PTI.
He further revealed that similar offers were extended to former KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. Atif expressed surprise at how Khattak had been persuaded by these propositions. “I’m amazed at how easily he was swayed,” he said. Addressing internal party divisions, Atif Khan emphasized, “I am not a threat to anyone. Imran Khan, the party’s founder, will decide who gets what position within PTI.”
Commenting on the recent notices issued to him, Atif Khan admitted confusion. “Some party members have told me that these notices were issued without the Chief Minister’s knowledge. A meeting with him will clear up whether he was aware of this or not,” he added. Atif also mentioned that his lawyers had informed Imran Khan about the situation, which left the PTI chairman surprised. “Imran Khan sent me a message asking me not to worry and advised that internal disagreements should remain within the party,” he concluded.
